As a well documented component of the Gerson Therapy protocol, I was keen to try out the mighty coffee enemas as a way to cleanse the colon and detoxify the body.
Here’s how it went.
I bought a Medi Grade enema kit on amazon for just under €20. Included in the kit is a hot water bottle (transparent which is very important to allow you to see how much liquid is left), a handy hook to hang the water bottle nice and high in your bathroom, a long tube with a safety open/close valve, various different nozzles (some hard, some soft) so you can pick one that suits you.
I got the organic coffee also on amazon. While this brand is aimed specifically at enemas, I think you can use any brand of coffee as long as it is organic. The idea of the enema is to detoxify or remove toxic substances from the body that have built up in the colon (or large intestine). It does not make sense to use a coffee that has been grown using pesticides to do this so go organic on this occasion.
Use the ratio, 3 tbls of coffee to 2 litres of water, bring to the boil in a steel pan and let simmer for 20 minutes. Add some more cold filtered water to cool the coffee down to room temperature. Boiling coffee would not work well here!
Fill the water bottle with the coffee, attach the long tube and make sure the safety valve is set to closed. Get yourself comfortable in the bathroom, lying on the floor on your left side is good. Lubricate the nozzle with coconut oil or vaseline, insert the nozzle into the rectum and start to slow release the liquid. The water bottle is hanging up high here so gravity is doing all the work, you are just controlling the flow using the yellow valve.
You will start to feel pressure building up down there as you release more and more of the liquid. Try resist the urge to go to the toilet and let the liquid circulate in the colon. This was my first go at this and I didn’t last very long at all. I had about 4 or 5 visits in total and the whole thing took about 30 minutes (excluding making the coffee).
It feels really good afterwards, a bit lighter all round with a clear mind.
Now for the science part of what is really going on here.
Coffee contains a component called palmitic acid. Palmitic acid, once ingested into the body stimulates the production of an enzyme called Glutathione S-Transferase in the liver. It is this enzyme that travels the body and mops up free radicals and other toxins to help the body detoxify by removing these harmful components.
So by taking an enema which enters the body rectally, avoids the coffee and the palmitic acid having to go through the digestive system so it reaches the liver faster and stimulates production of a large number of the Glutathione S-Transferase enzymes.
Asides from the beneficial effects of the coffee taken in this way, all the liquid that you are releasing into the colon helps to clear out fecal matter that has been lodged in the many pockets of the colon and other material that have built up in the colon over years of eating and drinking.
This is the ultimate spring clean for your body so I highly recommend trying it out.
Yours in health and happiness,
JP
